Sub-Zero repair across the San Fernando Valley, by factory-trained technicians.
Sub-Zero is the appliance most worth keeping running. A 1998 Sub-Zero 700 with a slow refrigerant leak is not the same problem as a 1998 Whirlpool — the Sub-Zero is worth restoring. We’ve worked on Sub-Zeros from the 1980s that still run perfectly. The platform was built to be serviceable, and we’re trained to service it.
Three things that distinguish Sub-Zero work:
Dual-compressor architecture. Most Sub-Zeros use two separate refrigeration systems — one for the freezer, one for the fridge. This is why a Sub-Zero with a warm fresh-food side might still be making ice fine. It also means a sealed-system repair on one side doesn’t disturb the other. We diagnose each circuit independently.
Magnetic door gaskets are repairable. Sub-Zero gaskets cost $200+ from the factory but are absolutely re-installable in your home — no shop time. We pull, condition, and reseat gaskets without scratching the cabinet, and we keep replacement gaskets for the most common BI and 700-series sizes on the truck.
The 7000-series is a learning curve. The post-2018 7000-series introduced new electronics, new diagnostics, and new parts. A tech who has only worked on classics will guess wrong on a 7000-series fault. We’ve trained on the 7000-series specifically and carry the right diagnostic tools for it.
Repair vs. replace, honestly
Built-in Sub-Zeros are virtually always worth repairing. A $1,200 sealed-system rebuild on a $14,000 unit is a no-brainer. The exception: catastrophic compressor failure on a 25+ year-old unit where the brazed joints are showing fatigue everywhere — that’s the rare case where we’d recommend replacement. We’ll always give you the honest math.
